Collinwood believes in … ENGAGING EVERYONE’S VOICE IN THE CREATIVE PROCESS
North Shore Collinwood is a community exploding with cultural spirit. We’re a neighborhood that’s got a lot to say, and our painters, musicians, writers and other artists are actively helping us express those thoughts … and tackling lots of different community issues in the process.
We don’t have a single artistic viewpoint here. We’re a place teeming with the creativity of school teachers, bartenders, church organists … Literally hundreds and hundreds of residents and workers have contributed to our community culture.
Thanks to support from ArtPlace America and partnerships with Arts & Democracy and the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections, that artistic process is about to get even more open.
Through our new Ballot Box Project, we’re about to embark on a first-of-its-kind experiment in how community arts projects get started. We’ll be inviting everyday people to propose ideas for how arts projects can address community priorities … and inviting our entire community to vote on where they’d like to see arts investments made. And we’ll be doing all of that opposite an effort to get people registered and to the polls in the 2016 elections.
It’s going to be a thrilling experience – one where every single perspective will make a difference. Want to have your voice heard in that process? Read on to get up-to-date details on the process and what you can expect.
