Walk All Over Waterloo in the Waterloo Arts District!

The first Friday of the month brings with it Walk All Over Waterloo (WAOW) in the Waterloo Arts District. WAOW is an opportunity to visit many of the businesses in the district all at one time and to socialize with friends, family, and maybe even to meet someone new, after all Valentine’s Day is fast approaching. Most art openings in the district happen during WAOW and other businesses may have special deals or events going on as well. Here’s what we know is happening so far for February. Waterloo Arts is kicking off the return of the DayGloSho in conjunction with Cleveland’s DayGlo Color Corp, with an opening reception and Mardi Glo Party. Forty local artists are being showcased in this year’s event. The event which takes place under black light is bright and colorful with a fun mixture of art. Praxis Fiber Workshop invites you to the opening of Rhythms and Rotations by Janice Lessman-Moss, 6-9 PM. Janice Lessman-Moss is a professor and the head of the program in Textile Art at Kent State University. Woven on single threaded looms and jacquards power looms, her compositions evolve from a template of simple geometric shapes that then have been sub-divided into smaller units using a computer to generate her ideas. Through a sequence of improvised selection, new configurations are revealed, that in turn, form the foundation for successive layers of patterns. www.facebook.com/events/530651507304463/
